Will it fit your room?
Place six US mattress sizes in a room drawn to scale. Check the space you actually have left.
Bed centered across the room, head against the wall. Frame allowance adds to each overall dimension, not each side. Room contents are not included.
There is room around the bed.
24 inches is our planning flag, not a building or accessibility standard. Check door swing, wardrobes, nightstands, walking routes and the delivery path. Negative clearance means overlap.
The numbers behind the layout
Our layout reserves no head clearance because the bed is placed against a wall. Side clearance is (room width − frame width) ÷ 2. Foot clearance is room length − frame length. Rotating swaps the frame’s dimensions. A room may fit a mattress geometrically while leaving too little practical space for doors or furniture.
| Size | Width × length | Centimeters | Width per person (two sleepers) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Twin | 38 × 75″ | 97 × 191 cm | 19″ |
| Twin XL | 38 × 80″ | 97 × 203 cm | 19″ |
| Full | 53 × 75″ | 135 × 191 cm | 26.5″ |
| Queen | 60 × 80″ | 152 × 203 cm | 30″ |
| King | 76 × 80″ | 193 × 203 cm | 38″ |
